But to do that, you first need to understand how they actually work. DNS stands for Domain Name System. These are servers that act as the Internet's directory assistants, mapping hostnames to their respective IP addresses. For example, when you type www.cmit.com into your browser, your input is sent to a DNS server, which then provides the IP address associated with it. That was DNS, but what about the firewalls?
