Friday practice at Spa is over and the fastest driver of the day was Lando Norris in the McLaren. McLaren surprised everyone with a one-two in practice as Oscar Piastri was second fastest and Max Verstappen in the Red Bull third after leading the session in FP1. The day was characterised by a lot more dry running than expected as heavy rain was expected but it did not materialise. Rain is still expected for qualifying so it will be interesting to see what changes the teams make. Ferrari had a stronger day as Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc looked much more relaxed and were the third fastest team, while Mercedes with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell may have had a little more power in the power unit.

Spa is an iconic circuit with numerous legendary corners such as La Source, Eau Rouge, Pouhoun, Blanchimant and the final Bus Stop chicane. The circuit is high speed and overtaking is very easy. This is the last race before the season break and the teams will be looking to go into the break with a good feeling. Will Red Bull be able to overtake McLaren or will Mercedes or even Ferrari find a way into the fight at the front?
