Let's learn how to easily add matchmaking to your multiplayer games using Unity Matchmaker.
It's an extremely versatile tool. You can define rules with as much or as little complexity as you want. You can create a ranked queue and a casual queue, one for solo players and one for teams.
Define rules for matchmaking based on skills or make it platform or region based.
This tool is very well integrated with Game Server Hosting (Multiplay), Unity's cloud hosting solution for dedicated servers. Matchmaker can communicate with it and bring up servers automatically.
Then your player in your game simply presses a single button and the players will automatically be merged, the server for the game will be started and the connection will be established.
