Different ethical theories provide different frameworks for determining what is morally right or wrong. These theories can be used when making ethical decisions in a variety of different contexts. They dictate what a potentially "right" course of action should look like based on contexts such as people, community values, principles, and potential consequences.

Three different ethical theories include:
– Deontological ethics
– Utilitarian ethics
– Virtue ethics
