Good dialogue in fiction isn't burdened with explanations. It has a purpose and builds to something. It should reveal your character's personality and give their voice a unique sound.

6 dialogue tips:
1. Stop small talk. Make the dialogue concise and effective.
2. Give your characters a unique voice and stay consistent.
3. Read your dialogue out loud.
4. Do not use the dialogue to go over what has already happened.
5. Use dialogue to reveal more than what is being said. Example: Use body language or certain words when the character is hiding something.
6. Use contractions whenever possible.
