Subscribe for more DayZ tips: You can extend the lifespan or despawn timer of items on the ground by placing them in unlit fire pits. This is because most loose items disappear after 4 hours, but in each container the timer is increased to at least 8 hours. This allows us to turn unlit fire pits into discreet camps in bushes while doubling the time they stay there. #dayz
