To install an IPv4 denial-of-service (DoS) policy on a Fortinet firewall, access the web-based Fortinet FortiGate Manager.
Navigate to the /“Security Profiles/” section and select /“DoS Policy/”.
Click Create New and configure the policy by specifying the source and destination addresses and the services affected.
Define thresholds for the attack type, such as packet rate or session rate, and set corresponding action parameters, such as blocking or logging.
Make sure the policy is enabled, then apply it to the desired firewall policy or globally.
This proactive measure protects your network by mitigating potential IPv4-based denial-of-service attacks and strengthening the security posture of your Fortinet firewall.
Review and update these policies regularly to adapt to new threats and maintain optimal network protection.
