In this Git Github tutorial, we will learn what pull requests are and get a step-by-step guide on how to create and merge pull requests. Pull requests have become very popular as the popularity of Github skyrockets. They provide a way to contribute to other people's code.

Open source contributions are a major learning source for software developers today. A practical guide on how to contribute to open source projects can be found here. I'm starting a new video tutorial series where I'll explain everything in detail: What is open source? Why do people contribute? This series also includes Git tutorials for common Git commands (pull, add, commit, push) and advanced Git commands (merge, rebase, fetch, upstream). I'll demonstrate it by creating pull requests and issues. I'll also talk about Google Summer of Code and Outreachy programs for open source contributions.

In this fifth video, I show how to create issues and pull requests, and also give a taste of what we'll see in the next video.
