In this video I talk about things to avoid when building your PC in regards to installing the fans. There is a logic to installing your fans for optimal airflow. If you are an experienced PC builder this video may not be for you but for beginners it can be confusing at times.

There are certain things to consider:
1 – Airflow through fans tends to be from front to back. In other words, the front of the fan draws air in and the back sucks it in. So you should usually orient intake fans facing outward from the case and exhaust fans with their backs facing the vents.
2 – Hot air rises, so if possible, install supply fans on the front and bottom of your case and exhaust fans on the top and back.
3 – Avoid placing supply and exhaust fans very close together. Placing supply fans at the front and exhaust fans at the side, very close together, will just cause air to flow into the enclosure and then immediately back out again. Not ideal.
4 – Be careful not to fall into the trap of installing fans just so you can see the RGB. It's easy and I've done it before.
5 – Make sure you place the intake fans at the bottom of the case if possible. If you set the bottom fans to exhaust, they will fight with the GPU fans trying to pull air through the graphics card to cool it. Most GPUs exhaust air from the back near the HDMI/DP ports. But some air will also escape from the top as heat is naturally dissipated.
