Thanks to Default Cube for their tutorial on GN feedback loops. It came out yesterday and I just had to try it out. The principle is pretty simple: if an edge gets too short or too long, try to move the vertices apart/closer. Also calculate the force along the diagonals to get the shear stiffness. The rope physics is even simpler.
