A strange package shows up at the Spy Ninjas' headquarters, containing a puzzle box! As Chad and Vy are playing around with the box, a message sent by Spades from prison suddenly plays! Spades says that if the Spy Ninjas can't solve the puzzle box and get it to the prison within an hour, he will escape from prison.

When Reo hears this, he decides to take matters into his own hands. He offers to sneak into the safe house and use Scattered Skulls' protocols to call off the prison break. Chad sends shinobi with Reo to make sure he doesn't try to trick them. Meanwhile, Chad, Vy, and Stormi stay at headquarters to try to open the puzzle box.

Chad, Vy and Stormi struggle to open the box and to make matters worse, Reo tricks the Spy Ninjas into hiring the assassin to hunt down Spades! Now it's a race against time to stop the assassin from killing Spades while making sure Spades doesn't escape from prison.

Will the Spy Ninjas be able to solve the puzzle in time to prevent Spades' escape? Will they be able to stop the assassin?
