Protect:
Take one of the three alternative tests three times, either simultaneously or on different days, and achieve at least the specified minimum score:
(A) Rifle – small caliber (.22 inch), single shot. Sight – any (except telescopic sight). Position – lying. Slings may be used. Shots – twenty on two cards at the following distances:
22.9 meters, minimum score: 155 SMRC Match
22.9 meters, minimum score: 80 Military 200.25
(B) Air Rifle – Caliber (.117 inch), single shot. Position – Standing or lying down. Sling may be used. Shots – Twenty on two cards at the following distances:
Distance (meters) – 5.48, Minimum score: 150 SMRC 5 Bull Air Rifle.
Remarks:
The edge of the bullet hole that is closest to the center of the target determines the score of the hit.
When using an air rifle, precautions must be taken to prevent pellets from ricocheting toward the shooter's eyes.

Examiner’s comments:
The scout must adjust his sight himself and after adjustment no more than ten test shots are allowed.
Know the safety rules for rifle shooting, have a basic knowledge of the rifle mechanism and be able to adjust important parts.
Know the standard sight values for different distances and understand the bullet trajectory and damage potential.
Show how to clean the rifle.
