Let's say you've made some money from your stream, or are putting money aside on the side, and you want to upgrade. Today I'm going to discuss the BEST purchases you should make and the order in which you should build out your stream… and some of the purchases I think weren't worth it for me.

Why should you upgrade a microphone first?
We're assuming you have a PC that can play a good quality stream, so the most important purchase is a good microphone. If someone comes over and you're streaming 720p or even 480p, they'll usually be OK with it, but if your audio hurts their ears or doesn't sound right, I promise they'll leave.
There are many cheap USB microphones with fantastic sound, and you can improve them even further if you apply the right filters that come free with OBS and Slobs.

What are the best webcams and lights for streamers?
Lighting is crucial to the quality of your webcam or camera. You can get some cheap LED panels from Aputure, such as the AL-MC lamps, or the Elgato LED panels are great too.
I use the Logitech C922 Pro and then use these little LED light panels to illuminate myself.
This little light is enough to illuminate my face. Then I manually set my webcam settings, which you really should do too, add a custom LUT I made for myself to make the colors look nice, and I'm good to go.
The lights behind me aren't as bright so I stand out and they make the background look nice, which is important. You should try to make your background look nice or get a cheap green screen.
