I'm trying to create a character design portfolio in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe. I'm not an expert on the deep lore of ATLA, so please spare me if I get something wrong. In fact, most of my knowledge comes solely from fanfiction I read 2 years ago, so I don't really know anymore if the things I know are real or fanon.

I also realize that calling something a dream job is a double-edged sword. Many artists become disillusioned when it comes to entering the animation or gaming industry after realizing that it is not a dream job, but just an office job in an industry that can be quite grueling. I am well aware of the realities of working in animation, but still hold out hope that some areas of the industry strive for kindness and fairness to their employees and good stories for their audiences.
