What are some important tips to keep in mind when filming a live concert? While there are a number of videos out there showing how to shoot cinematic slow motion B-roll, few discuss the actual practical scenario of filming with multiple cameras and capturing great audio that will allow you to put together a full edit of the show in post-production. And more importantly, even fewer videos discuss if and how to go about it as a solo shooter.

In this behind the scenes retrospective (BTS) video, I'll go through my process for filming live concerts from the perspective of a solo run-and-gun videographer and outline my 5 essential points to keep in mind. I'll also provide plenty of concrete examples of how I handle different situations – from multiple audio sources and their pros and cons, to different camera angles and lens choices, and other pitfalls that are often overlooked. Lastly, I'll mention many of my usual tools for gigs like this, why I use them, and how you can benefit from them.

If you like behind-the-scenes insights like this, be sure to subscribe for more as I'll be sharing my process of filming weddings and other gigs in the near future. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below!
