What are user stories and what are the common mistakes made when writing them? How can we write better user stories and avoid these common mistakes?
Requirements vs. User Story – are requirements the same thing? Are there even requirements for user stories? There are really only three steps in creating software: have an idea of the problem we want to solve, create software to solve the problem, and then check that the software does what we think it does and solves the problem. A user story focuses on the first step, but if we get it right, the next two steps become much easier.

In this episode, Dave Farley examines 5 common user story mistakes that make software development and continuous delivery harder rather than easier. As he examines the mistakes, Dave describes some of the characteristics of better, more useful user stories and the reasons why they are better.
