Each year, the VMI Center for Leadership and Ethics (CLE) selects a theme to guide its programming, which includes lectures and conferences. For the 2020-21 academic year, the theme is "Teamwork: From Many to One."
The CLE crown event to highlight and explore this topic is the 11th Annual Leadership and Ethics Conference, which will be held online for the first time on February 15 and 16, 2021. The title of the conference is “Strong Leaders, Strong Teams.”
The conference is open to all interested adults and attracts the attention of faculty and students from a variety of military and civilian colleges, members of the public and private sectors, military leaders, and a nonprofit audience.
Keynote speakers include General (Ret) Stanley McChrystal, US Army; General (Ret) Richard "Butch" Neal, USMC; Shari Harley, business communications coach; and Ben Freakley, former VMI men's soccer coach and mental health coach for the Toronto Blue Jays. Past speakers include Lester Johnson, '95; Elise Woodworth, '07; and Captain Joe Bishop USMC, '12.
Online registration is open. For more information, visit https://www.vmi.edu/about/conferences/leadership/
