Do you want to be a more experienced user? Computer users are usually divided into two groups: those who prefer to use their mouse and those who prefer to use hotkeys. Converting a series of mouse clicks into a simple press of one or two keys can significantly increase your productivity. A person who spends 8 hours a day in front of a computer can lose 64 hours each year if they use a mouse instead of the keyboard for most tasks.

Although we all know a few keyboard shortcuts, like Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste, we rarely try to find or use other keyboard shortcuts. Bright Side has created a list of 10 keyboard shortcuts that will make you a power user. Ready to boost your productivity and look cool while doing it? Then check out our new video!

SUMMARY:
– Next time you need to redo something you accidentally undid, just press Ctrl+Y on Windows or Command+Y on Mac and carry on with your work like it's no big deal!
– On your desktop or in an Explorer window, press Ctrl+Shift+N. Your new folder will immediately appear and can be named.
– If you want to completely delete your files here and now, just select them and press Shift+Delete. For Mac users with OS X, the keyboard shortcut is Option+Command+Delete.
– Press the Windows key (.) and enjoy the emoji keyboard on your Windows device! Note that this little trick only works if you have Windows 10.
– We've all been there when you have so many windows open that it's hard to keep track of them all. All you have to do is press the Windows logo key and M (or Option, Command and M for Mac) and voilà! Your path is now clear!
– Minimizing windows is cool, but what if you need to lock Windows itself? No problem! Just click the Windows logo key along with the letter L.
– To add a new virtual desktop if needed, press the Windows key together with Ctrl and D.
– If you need incognito mode, press Ctrl, Shift and N to save time! If you're on a Mac, press Command, Shift and N!
– Don't worry if you accidentally closed an important tab. Google Chrome has got you covered! All you have to do is press Ctrl, Shift and T and the tab will be instantly re-displayed.
– Instead of this time-consuming inconvenience, just hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on the links you need! This simple keyboard shortcut will keep you on the search page while opening all the results you need in separate tabs.
